Gobora Drilling (Pty) Ltd was established in 2003 by P.E. (Piet) Scholtz and is currently managed by P.E. Scholtz (Operations) and J.J. Scholtz (Finance).
We are a Level 2 B-BBEE Contributor with 51.22% combined Black Woman Ownership following an empowerment acquisition in 2014.
Over the years, we have completed numerous projects throughout South Africa for mining houses, goverment insitiutions, and private companies.

Our first renewable energy project was the Waterloo Project in Vryburg, launched in June 2019, where we completed over 55,000 drilled holes.

Gobora Drilling offers multiple drilling disciplines for photovoltaic developments, including pre-drilling for piles, auger drilling, and pile ramming.
Our teams are trained to work accurately, safely, and efficiently on PV developments, reducing re-drilling and supporting reliable project output.
Gobora Drilling has 9 designated drill rigs suitable for PV projects, giving us strong production capability and flexibility across different terrain conditions.

We are equipped to drill up to depths of 500 meters and have experience in drilling various diameters ranging from 5½” to 20″.
Gobora Drilling has its own hydraulic and general engineering workshop in Vryburg, allowing repairs to be completed quickly with minimal production downtime.
